Taxifolin Complex SR combines high-potency vitamin C, highly bioavailable zinc bisglycinate, and Lavitol® dihydroquercetin (taxifolin), resulting in a powerful antioxidant blend. The SmartMatrix™ tablet releases this antioxidant complex slowly over 5 to 7 hours for optimal absorption and tissue retention.
Taxifolin exerts antioxidant capacity superior to quercetin. In vivo, taxifolin metabolism yields metabolites with taxifolin-related bioactivities, including antioxidant and other actions (1).
Vitamin C neutralizes free radicals that can harm cells, including endothelial cells. In the blood, vitamin C helps recycle and reactivate vitamin E. It plays a role in the production/activation of key immune cells, helps ensure a healthy inflammatory response, and protects the integrity of skin and underlying capillaries (2).
Zinc protects cells from oxidative damage primarily as a component of superoxide dismutase (SOD). It supports the function of several immune cells(e.g., neutrophils, natural killer cells and T-lymphocytes). Like vitamin C zinc helps maintain the integrity of skin and mucous membranes that line the nose, mouth, throat, and intestinal tract (3).
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement for adults, take one (1) tablet, twice daily with food, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Emerging research highlights taxifolin as a potent antioxidant compound with the potential for wide-ranging benefits:
May help support whole body health. One extensive review of preclinical research indicates taxifolin exerts cardiovascular, hepatoprotective, and neuroprotective activity as well as the ability to promote healthy cell division and immune function (4). Taxifolin has also been shown to support respiratory function (5). These actions are attributed to its potent antioxidant capacity.
Superior antioxidant activity compared to quercetin. Taxifolin has more antioxidant capacity and protective benefits than regular quercetin, based on animal studies (6). For example, taxifolin was found to be superior to quercetin for protecting capillary function in a dose-dependent manner (3.4 times better at 100 mg/kg and 4.9 times better at 300 mg/kg). This action is attributed to its hydroxyl group(–OH) on the aromatic ring, which quercetin lacks (7).
May help support healthy immune function. Preclinical research indicates taxifolin exerts immunomodulating actions that may offer therapeutic potential for healthy immune function. These actions are attributed to its ability to reduce oxidative stress (8-11).
Lavitol® Dihydroquercetin (Taxifolin)
Lavitol® dihydroquercetin (taxifolin) extract is affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) in the United States for use in foods and supplements. The European Union’s EFSA Panel has concluded taxifolin-rich extracts from Dahurian larch are safe for adults and teens 14 years and older. The conditions of use include 100 mg/day of taxifolin from food supplements (12).
Other Ingredients: Vegetable wax (rice bran), magnesium stearate (vegetable), and silica.
Taxifolin Complex SR is manufactured in the United States (Oregon) in a state-of-the-art, FDA-registered facility that meets or exceeds current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Quality control tests are performed at every stage of the manufacturing process from rigorous raw material testing to finished product testing.
